About GBFG

The Greater Birmingham Fiber Guild has welcomed amateur and professional craftspeople who weave, spin, knit, felt, dye, sew, tat, and more since 1975. The Guild meets the second Saturday of most months at 10 am at the Hoover Church of Christ (3248 Lorna Road, Birmingham, AL 35216). We also have several monthly study groups. Currently study groups are meeting for spinning, knitting, and tatting. Visitors are always welcome at our meetings. Check the monthly newsletter posted on the blog or contact one of the board members to find out about our upcoming meetings, study groups, and workshops. Our bylaws can be found here.

The logo and text design seen on this Greater Birmingham Fiber Guild web site was the work of Janna Ford.

  1. Hi, I just inherited my Mother's 45" jack loom and was wondering if you knew where I could attend classes to learn how to weave.

  2. Hi! I am looking for someone who can spin raw cotton. My father is a cotton farmer, and I am looking to make a keepsake from some cotton I picked at our farm last week. Santubm@gmail.com
