July Guild Meeting, Saturday, July 12

Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025

Time: 10am-1pm

Location: Hoover Church of Christ, 3248 Lorna Road, Hoover, AL 35216

No Zoom available for this meeting

Our program this month is: Christmas in July

Tis the season to start thinking of handmade holiday gifts. To try and evade the last minute holiday rush please join us for a little gift and decoration making fun.

We will be doing a few make and takes and also have examples of other projects with take home instructions to do later. We will also be providing supplies, but if you have anything specific that you want to use please bring it with you!

Felted Soap: Cover a bar of soap in felted wool! These are so easy to make and are great gifts for almost anyone on your list. We will have wool and some soap on hand, but if you have a specific kind of soap that you like, please bring it with you.

Washcloths and Facecloths: Cotton washcloths are a great way to use less paper towels, are quick to make, and are a fun way to try out a new stitch without committing to a full sweater or blanket. We will have some Knit Picks’ Dishy yarn and other cotton yarns, but please feel free to bring your own yarn if you wish.

Felt Ornaments: We will have lots of patterns and supplies to make stuffed felt ornaments.

Granny Square Trees: Now these are just adorable as either an ornament or making several and making them into a garland. We will have a variety of greens and browns for the trees but if you have specific colors or yarns that you like please bring them.

Team Vulcan Spinners, Tour de Fleece 2025

The Vulcan Spinners are back up and riding; join us and spin up miles and miles of yarn. You can find us at: https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/greater-birmingham-fiber-guild/4366494 Whether on your old production wheel, spindle, e-spinner or anything you can put a spin on fiber with, join the Team Vulcan Spinners for spinning fun.
