Picnic and indigo dyeing Saturday

The Guild will be meeting at 11 on Saturday May 14 at Jennifer Justiss's farm for our annual picnic. Send an email to one of the board members for directions (links on the right) or check the newsletter delivered to your email. The Guild will provide paper goods, water, and sandwich fixings. Bring a salad or dessert to share, drinks if you want something other than water, and a chair or blanket.

We'll have indigo dye pots going at the picnic. Indigo is magic! Dyed fiber is greenish coming out of the pot and only turns blue when exposed to air. (Actually chemistry, not magic, but still pretty cool.) If you want to try it out, bring something to dye. Pretty much any fiber will work-please make sure it is clean. Also bring gloves (indigo works great on skin too) and a plastic bag to transport your dyed items.
