For the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped “favorite item” of fiber tools or accessories, with a goal value of around $15.

The board will provide finger-sandwiches, beverages, and paper products, but please bring a favorite finger food to share.

Board Elections:  Right before the festivities begin we will elect our new Board for next year.

Coming in January: Fiber Resolutions and Show and Tell

November Meeting, Saturday, November 9, 2024, 10:00am

Date: Saturday, November 9, 2024

Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm (corrected)

Location:  Hoover Church of Christ, 3248 Lorna Road, Hoover, in the church library

Our program this month is:   “Discovering a ‘Lost’ Art” with Julibeth Jones

Tatting is often described as a ‘lost art’. Is it really? …and if so, how did a ‘tween manage to come upon it and pick up a shuttle? Take a walk down memory lane with Guild member, Julibeth Jones as she shares snippets of tatted lace lore and her own story of discovery. The program will conclude with a screen‑projected demonstration. Shuttles and thread will be available for those interested in seeing if they, too, will ‘flip’ for this lacey craft. Books (including two 100+ year old tatting books/pamphlets), tools, threads, and work samples will also be on display.

Please note that we are meeting in the church library this month, so look for signs and people to point you in the right direction. Enter through the main entrance instead of the basement entrance.
